Singoalla’s Cave is a viewpoint above Klintsjön Lake, on the eastern side. Here is also a rock formation resembling a small cave.

According to a novel by Viktor Rydberg, this is the place of the forbidden love between the Knight Erland Månesköld and the gypsy Singoalla. The novel „Singoalla“ was published in 1857.

How to get to Singoallas Cave

You’ll have to hike and do some climbing. By car, it’s about 10 km from Lammhult to the parking lot. You can park your car here, and it’s about 900 meters walking from the parking lot. The trail is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.

Coming from G 875 from Lädja, the cave is signposted. At the northern end of the village, turn right and follow the signs for about 2 km to the parking lot. You drive through the Hult settlement. The parking lot offers camping benches, but no charging station for electric cars. Cell phone reception is rather poor in the forest and among the mountains (as of 2024).

From the parking lot, walk a few meters east and then turn onto the signposted path to the cave. The path is clearly visible, but requires sturdy footwear and sometimes dexterity.

At the end, you have to climb down a few steps to reach the actual cave. This video here follows the path from the parking lot to the cave.

What else is nearby

A few minutes before the cave, a somewhat steep climb to the right leads to the Hultaklint Viewpoint. From here, you have a beautiful view over the forests and Lake Hultasjön. Next to the viewpoint, there are camping benches for a picnic.
