The Strofi Athenian Restaurant is a Greek restaurant with a beautiful view at the Acropolis, and very delicious food.

PGConf.EU is always a good opportunity to explore new restaurants. This posting lists the restaurants we visited while in Athens for the 2024 conference.

The Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens is an elegant, well-placed hotel with a view of the Acropolis. It's located in the southeast of the city center and has a large conference area, as well as a rooftop pool and bar. The area around the hotel features a number of restaurants and cafes.

The Rakáki Restaurant is a nice, little restaurant in the Kesariani suburban area of Athens. It has indoor and covered outdoor seating, and is not near the touristic areas. The outdoor seating area is across the sidewalk, and has heaters for when the weather is a bit colder. They have music playing, the restaurant is open every day, from around noon to past midnight.

The Oroscopo Restaurant is a Mediterranean restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. It has a larger number of tables on the main floor, and a couple of additional tables on the upper floor, which have a view over the main area and out onto the street.

The Ta Filetakia restaurant (Τα φιλετάκια) is a traditional Greek restaurant in the Dafni district. It is off the tourist areas and a recommendation by locals.

The Chapel of St. George is on Mount Lycabettus in the center of Athens. It was built in the 1870, and is a religious place and a tourist attraction.

The Barbaro Athens is a fine Mediterranean restaurant with indoor seating and live music. It opened in January 2024. The place has a smaller separate room in the front, towards the street, and a large room in the back, with the bar and the stage for live music.
