We were on vacation near Lammhult in summer of 2024. One of the restaurants we visited was the Restaurant Lieblingsplatz (Favoritplats) in Rörvik. At first we thought that this was just the landlord’s “favorite place”, but when we visited the place we found out that the restaurant really was called that. So of course we wanted to find out what it was all about.

German and Swedish cuisine is available for lunch and dinner. Of course we tried the various schnitzels!

But what’s the story behind the name? When we first came to the restaurant, we were greeted in English and shown to a table. The waitress asked us what languages ​​we speak - and we answered “English and German”. Shortly afterwards, another waitress came to our table and greeted us in German. She migrated from Germany to Sweden and opened the restaurant here, with a couple of other people.

The food was really good, the restaurant is clean and nice. You can sit inside and outside, there is free WiFi and of course you can pay by card. There is free parking in front of the place.

How to get to the restaurant Favoritplats

Rörvik is not very large, the restaurant is centrally located in the town. Next door is the Handlar’n supermarket.

Two streets away is the Västra Torggatan bus stop. A railway line runs through the town, but there is no train station.

On our first visit we ordered:

• Schnitzel “Wiener Art” (with Bernaise sauce, fried potatoes or French fries)
• “Jägareschnitzel” (with mushroom sauce, fried potatoes or French fries)
• “Schnitzel Holstein” (with two fried eggs, fried potatoes or French fries)
• Lava cake (Chocolate fondant and vanilla ice cream with fruit sauce and whipped cream)
• Crème brûlée (Quark cream dessert with raspberries)

On our second visit we ordered:

• Schnitzel “Wiener Art” (with Bernaise sauce, fried potatoes or French fries)
• “Jägareschnitzel” (with mushroom sauce, fried potatoes or French fries)
• Glass med frukt och grädde (Ice cream with fruit and cream)
